Is it possible to recycle polyurethane, a versatile plastic material, and turn the waste product into a valuable resource instead?

ECCO’s BIOM 2.0 shoe and the EXOWRAP sandal have been recognised at the German Design Award, one of the world’s most renowned design competitions.

ECCO seeks to be an active and respectful member of the countries and communities it operates in. ECCO has therefore for years participated in activities and projects in the communities in which we operate. These activities are closely related to ECCO’s core values.

From 7 to 10 July, ECCO Leather’s annual HOT-SHOP took place. Not at the company’s headquarter in the Netherlands, as usual, but in a digital, interactive workshop involving 150 people from 27 countries and across 10 different time zones.

A new book titled ‘Rebel shoe, rebel bag’ displays upcoming designers’ take on products created with a rebellious mindset. Since 2011, ECCO has collaborated with Design School Kolding to give the students in-depth knowledge of footwear. In return, the students challenge and inspire ECCO in terms of innovation and design. Every year, the results of the collaboration are displayed in a book.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has turned into a pandemic with worldwide consequences. It is a highly critical situation, which requires us to be stronger together and for everyone to do their part.

An entrepreneurial Danish design company has found a niche in designing high quality leather products made by people who do not fit into the framework of a regular job. The products are made from surplus leather donated by ECCO, and the company has made it their business to provide jobs and hope to marginalised people.

ECCO Sko A/S has entered into an agreement with ECCO’s Russian distributor, ECCO Ros, to take over the company.
