ECCO Sko A/S acquires its Russian distributor

ECCO Sko A/S has entered into an agreement with ECCO’s Russian distributor, ECCO Ros, to take over the company.

The cooperation between ECCO and its Russian distributor goes back nearly 30 years.

In 1993, ECCO Ros was formed by Andrey Sevagin and Ivan Shtopel.

They built an impressive business, now counting 215 shops in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Kirgistan.

The Russian partners were in many ways ahead of the industry, not least in marketing, and built a very strong brand position for ECCO in Russia, making ECCO one of the best known brands.

Recently, the sales of shoes through e-commerce have seen a substantial development.

ECCO intends to further build on the very strong foundation in Russia and also further develop new products specifically for Russia, underlining ECCO’s fit, comfort, and sustainability.

Questions can be directed to Michel Krol, ECCO’s Global Sales Director and Executive Vice President, who will become Chairman of ECCO Ros on the final take-over.
