ECCO aims to protect water resources and reduce its reliance on freshwater. The company aims to lower blue water withdrawal from municipal and groundwater sources across its units by optimizing water use through efficient technologies and processes, protecting local water sources, and reducing dependency on blue water.

WASTEWATER TREATMENT
ECCO aims to minimize pollution through its operational practices and ensure all wastewater is treated in water treatment plants in accordance with local regulations and ZDHC guidelines before emitted back into the environment.

Since 2024, our shoe manufacturing facility and our tannery in Indonesia have taken a significant step by recycling domestic wastewater to replace fresh water in the tannery operations. This initiative reduces freshwater consumption and supports circular water use. 

In 2025, our Thailand units advanced similar initiatives by reusing industrial wastewater for water scrubbers in spray machines, and ECCOs shoe factory began repurposing rejected drinking water for domestic use. As a result of these initiatives, a total of 63,775 m³ of water was recycled in 2025.
