ECCO aims to reduce dependency on energy generated from fossil fuel sources and replace it with renewable energy.

To support this ambition, all ECCO tanneries and approximately half of our shoe manufacturing facilities have installed rooftop solar panels. In addition, all ECCO manufacturing sites are ISO 50001 certified to strengthen energy management across its operations. 

In 2024, ECCO Holding started the creation of a solar energy park in Bredebro, Denmark. By the end of 2025, all construction work for the solar energy park was completed, ensuring readiness for operational launch in 2026. Covering an area of 60 hectares, ECCO will be able to produce enough green energy to the public grid to exceed the electricity consumption of ECCO in Denmark and the majority of ECCOs European locations.
