ECCO opens flagship store in Mumbai, India

In the beginning of February, ECCO opened a flagship store in Mumbai, India – our fifth in the most populous country in the world that is home to more than 1.4 billion people.

The store opened in the Phoenix Palladium Mall and with a 112 m2 area, the store has plenty of space to feature our full range for both women and men.

A fast growing economy, a young and dynamic population, and a growing affluent consumer base make India a market with a huge growth potential for ECCO. As the younger generations become more demanding when it comes to quality and style, they seek brands like ECCO.

"The store opening marks an important milestone in our long-term commitment to strengthen ECCO’s presence in India. We are excited to continue to expand our brand and presence in the country,” says Chief Commercial Officer Casper Gram Hvejsel.

Products and marketing must resonate with our consumers

Pursuing a growth agenda on the Indian market requires skills in navigating cultural differences, fluctuating consumer preferences, regulatory challenges, and a diversified economy – all of which require local adaptation and planning. Therefore, collaboration with local partners are an essential part of ECCO’s approach in India.

”Direct communication with our consumers is essential. Not only to strengthen our partnerships, but also to ensure that products and marketing initiatives resonate with our consumers. This goes not only for India but for all of our core markets. We must involve our consumers when we plan collections and marketing calendars for the coming seasons,” says Casper Gram Hvejsel.

Over the course of the first half of 2025, ECCO plans to open more shops in the southern part of India.
