ECCO Sko A/S appoints new Chief Executive Officer

ECCO Sko A/S has appointed Panos Mytaros new Chief Executive Officer, replacing Steen Borgholm, who has stepped down by mutual agreement. Borgholm has been working for a number of years in Europe, North America, and Asia and has made a very significant contribution.

Panos Mytaros has been with ECCO 27 years. After university in Germany, he worked at a Dutch tannery group, from which he was hired as Tannery Director in ECCO Indonesia. In 2002, he returned to Europe, where he has built the ECCO Leather Group to a major international player, based in Dongen in the Netherlands. In 2011, he became a member of ECCO’s Managing Board.

Michel Krol continues as member of the Managing Board. He has worked with ECCO for 21 years. He is the Group Sales Director. He comes from a shoe family in the Netherlands and has been educated in the Netherlands, Italy, and Switzerland. Having worked for 2 years with ECCO’s distributor in Benelux before joining ECCO, he was Managing Director of ECCO Benelux, next Managing Director Europe, and lastly Head of ECCO EMEA, before he in 2011 joined ECCO’s Managing Board, with responsibility for global sales.

Thomas Gøgsig, who joins the Managing Board as a new member, has deep ECCO roots. He is the third generation in his family to work for ECCO.

After studies at Aarhus University, where he became MSc in Chemistry, he followed this up with a PhD and management studies at Wharton, MIT, INSEAD, and St. Gallen. He joined ECCO in 2012 and in 2013 became Manager of Research activities and Innovation. He was appointed Head of Applied Research in 2015 and in 2018 was appointed VP and Chief of Staff in ECCO’s Marketing Division.

Mads Fink Eriksen is the second new member of the Managing Board. After a Bachelor Degree from the University of Aarhus, he took a Masters Degree at CBS Copenhagen, followed by an MBA from INSEAD.

He has worked with ECCO for 10 years, starting in China, followed by several years in Singapore in ECCO’s Global Production Headquarter. He next spent 3 years at ECCO’s Headquarters in Denmark as Head of Corporate Finance.

In 2018, he moved to Australia, where he successfully restructured ECCO’s sales organisation. In 2020, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer for the ECCO Group.
