ECCO launches new concept-driven athletic line

With ECCO Athletic Leisure Club, ECCO introduces a new collection of athleisure footwear with an invitation for all to join and discover new sneakers.

Designed in Denmark at ECCO’s global headquarters, the collection takes cues from the golden age of 90’s hip hop trainers, and is inspired by “Gorpcore”, bringing outdoor tech into the stylings of sneakers.

Launching in several stages, new ECCO Athletic Leisure Club retail concepts are coming this fall in Copenhagen and select markets, with community partners and activations to shape the club products and experience.

Head of ECCO Outdoor Nikolai Rabæk Christensen comments: “ECCO Athletic Leisure Club is the best of ECCO's sports-inspired and outdoor footwear collections brought together within an exciting new direction. ECCO Athletic Leisure Club is an important development for ECCO, bringing together cohesive and directional styles that cater for the way we live today.”

Key styles include ECCO EXOSTRIKE in both trainer and boot styles, the ECCO ZIPFLEX, with a distinctive sole design; and the wavy ECCO ELO, all featuring utilitarian elastic laces for easy on, easy go through work, gym, and play.

Made to last, all styles are manufactured through ECCO’s wholly owned value chain which prioritises slow fashion production with robust sustainability targets.

Most styles are made with ECCO’s own curated leather and premium blends of fabrics; and sports materials include Neoprene and GoreTex. Materials used in the midsole of its Phorene™ model offer all-day comfort and technology for energy return, while Fluidform™ technology is used to shape the interior around the natural shape of the foot for maximum comfort all day long.
