What is the ECCO NextGen Programme?
The ECCO NextGen programme is a development programme for young talent, who are keen to start their career in a global company. The aim is for ECCO to develop our Next Generation, i.e. our own pipeline of future leaders and specialists.

The duration of the NextGen programme is either 2 or 3 years, depending on your educational background (please refer to The ECCO NextGen Programme).

When do I apply for the NextGen Programme?
Each mid-December, the individual NextGen positions are advertised on our website, under Job Opportunities.

The application process runs from mid-December and until all roles have been filled. However, the application deadline is the beginning of March. Interviews will take place at the beginning of February and onwards.

All applications must be made through the online application process on our website (link is provided in the job advertisements).

When does the ECCO NextGen Programme start?
The ECCO NextGen programme commences 1st September each year.

Which type of programmes do you offer?
ECCO is offering an exclusive development programme for talented, adventurous people who are ready for exciting challenges and keen on seizing the world.

The ECCO NextGen programme start in September every year. The duration of the programme is 2 or 3 years, depending on the NextGen’s educational background. The programme comprises of fixed and flexible elements across the global business.

The career tracks for which we require NextGens, will vary each year, depending on business needs. The job advertisements will clearly illustrate career track and required skills/experience.

The introduction, tannery, retail and production rotations are fixed elements and each NextGen’s department stay can vary based on the needs of the organisation and the individual development plan of the NextGen. This will provide each NextGen with a tremendous amount of knowledge, and greatly increase their performance and career opportunities within ECCO.

During the programme, NextGens will experience different cultures and countries, as well as get the opportunity to combine practical experience with theoretical knowledge.

Can I apply for more than one of the advertised NextGen positions?
We recommend that you carefully consider where your interest lies, and which of the advertised positions you are absolutely most passionate about. So you may only apply for one position at a time. In case you are in doubt what to apply for, please check the requirements.

Can I send an unsolicited application to the programme?
We receive a great amount of applications during the admission period, and these are the only ones that will be considered for our NextGen programme. Therefore, please apply via Job Opportunities during the application period from mid-December to early March.

Can I complete the application in my own language?
ECCO’s corporate language is English; therefore, your CV (resume) and motivation letter must be in English.

What will my financial situation be as a NextGen?
Throughout the programme, NextGens will receive a monthly salary which is regulated yearly. Each NextGen’s salary will be based on their educational background and work experience, and will be adjusted on each job placement according to globally benchmarked local conditions.

While in the ECCO NextGen programme, accommodation and transport will be paid for and arranged by ECCO while expatriated abroad. During the periods in Denmark, accommodation and transportation may be paid by the NextGen, depending on whether it is a 2 or 3 year programme. ECCO will support the NextGen in securing suitable accommodation during the course of the programme.

Whilst on the programme, all our NextGens experience full medical and travel insurance cover.

Will I have to arrange my own accommodation?
While in the ECCO NextGen programme, accommodation will be paid for and arranged by ECCO while expatriated abroad. During the periods in Denmark, accommodation and transportation may be paid by the NextGen, depending on whether it is a 2 or 3 year programme. ECCO will support the NextGen in securing suitable accommodation during the course of the programme.

What is expected of an ECCO NextGen?
To be an ECCO NextGen, you must be determined, motivated, hardworking and responsible. You thrive on challenges, you are proactive and able to work independently. You possess a global mind-set and you are open to work with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds. You must have a willingness to travel not only as part of the programme, but be globally mobile beyond the programme, as further career opportunities within ECCO may require being based internationally.

Can I work in many different departments, in order to find my interest?
Through the entire NextGen programme you will experience different aspects of the company, in order to gain an understanding of ECCO, our value chain and to build your network. All NextGens are assigned to a fixed career track throughout the programme, and the expatriations are tailored to each individual NextGen, fully aligned with the career track, the NextGen’s educational background, work experience, aspirations and business needs. This to ensure that each NextGen get an in-depth knowledge into the specific field in which they will work, and developing their skills to possibly joining ECCO in a permanent position upon graduation.

I have not heard from ECCO, even though the admission period has passed by a few weeks. What should I do?
To ensure quality and fair screening for all candidates, the recruitment process is started right after the admission period is closed. Our experienced recruitment team works hard to recruit the right candidates for a NextGen position and therefore we kindly ask you to be patient, as the process can take up to 8 weeks. Once we are ready with our decision, you will hear from us.

What does the recruitment process look like?
ECCO runs two level interviews and depending on your location, it can be done as a video conference, in a group or face to face. The first interview will include a two way discussion about your past experiences, education and expectations. It will also give you a great opportunity to find out how it is to work in ECCO as a NextGen firsthand.

Selected candidates will be requested to take an online personality analysis as well as a cognitive ability test.

If you submit your application via Job Opportunities, you are only able to upload up to 1.5 MB at a time. Please divide your file and upload it one by one.

How do I delete or edit my profile, CV or other data?
In order to edit your profile, please click here and choose the Update job profile option. Once you are logged in, you can start editing it. In order to delete the profile, click on Update job profile and in the upper ribbon, choose Delete my profile.

My email and/or password do not work. What should I do?

How should I prepare for the interview?
ECCO is a global family of shoemakers and our people have passion for what they do. We welcome NextGens with different backgrounds and personalities; therefore it is important for us that you share your experience and show who you truly are. Also we expect you to do your research about the company and what we stand for. We would encourage you to prepare some relevant questions about the NextGen programme and the company.
